Is your password safe?

Weak passwords are the #1 cause of data breaches. Our generator uses cryptographic randomness to create passwords that would take centuries to crack. All generation happens in your browser — nothing is stored or transmitted.

How to use a generated password

A random password is only useful if you never have to remember it. Generate one, paste it straight into a password manager as you create or update the account, and let the manager fill it in from then on. Do not email it to yourself, save it in a note, or reuse it on a second site. If you need to check an existing password instead, use our password strength checker.

How long and complex should it be?

  • 16 characters or more. Length is the single biggest factor in how hard a password is to crack.
  • Mix character types when the site allows it, but do not sacrifice length to fit a short symbol-heavy pattern.
  • One password, one account. Generate a fresh password for every login so a single breach cannot cascade.

Passwords generated here are created in your browser. Explore the rest of our free security tools for hashing and email header checks.

FAQ

Are generated passwords stored anywhere?

No. They are generated in your browser. Copy the one you want into your password manager, and it is gone from this page as soon as you leave.

Do I need a password manager to use these?

It is strongly recommended. Long random passwords are only practical if something remembers them for you, and a manager also stops you reusing the same password across sites.
