What Happened to Symantec Cyber Security Services?
The Symantec name now points to different companies. Accenture bought the Symantec Cyber Security Services business from Broadcom in 2020, while Broadcom markets Symantec enterprise products. Norton consumer products are a Gen Digital brand.

What the record shows
Accenture said on April 30, 2020, that it had completed its purchase of the Symantec Cyber Security Services business, which it described as including more than 300 employees. That covered services, not the Symantec product portfolio, which Broadcom continues to present as part of Broadcom.
We could not confirm from Accenture's current pages whether any service still uses the Symantec name, so if you're a former customer, ask your contact or check your contract.
Example: an old contract
You find a Symantec agreement in old files
This scenario is invented. Your agreement mentions Symantec monitoring. First work out if it covers a product (ask Broadcom) or a managed service (ask your account contact, or Accenture). Then confirm who holds your logs, and whether anyone is still watching those systems. Don't assume coverage continues because a login page still works.
Choosing a replacement
- Identify whether you need a product, a managed service, or both
- Confirm who currently holds your data and how to get it back
- Confirm what's still being monitored today, and by whom
